Dr Penny Seth-Smith ND has been in full time practice since 1994, as a naturopathic family physician, catering to all ages and ailments. Born and educated in the UK, Dr. Penny obtained a BSc (Hons) from the prestigious Manchester University, before her 4 year training at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. In practice she selects from a range of treatment methods, both evidence-informed and traditional, to craft individualised plans. She uses applied kinesiology (a form of bio-feedback) to finesse the selection of synergistic supplements and remedies to address her patient’s current health concerns. Her focus is always on treating the patient who is suffering from the disease, and looking for the cause of the problem, rather than just addressing the symptoms of the disease. Dr Penny has a particular interest in complex difficult-to-diagnose cases and the interplay between physical, mental and emotional health. She also has treatments that cater to highly sensitive people. Her passion is enabling people to become well enough that they no longer need her services. She is, of course, in good standing with the CNPBC (College of Naturopathic Physicians of British Columbia, the licensing body for Naturopathic Doctors in BC), the CAND (Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors) and the BCNA (British Columbia Naturopathic Association).

A drop of blood is assessed under the microscope and the various factors seen are quantified. Please note that this visit is only to do the test, and does not include any interpretation of the results.
After an 8 hour fast, a drop of your blood is taken from a finger-prick and viewed on screen. This shows how robust of your red and white blood cells are, and gives information about the terrain of your body, which helps us learn more about what type of health problems your body is currently more susceptible to. This test is only for existing patients who have been asked to book it, or for those patients interested in looking deeper into their terrain. This test is usually performed early in the day, so you don't have to fast for long. Please try to book for 10am on Monday, or 9 am Thursday or Friday, unless you find it easy to fast for longer. Drinking water is recommended, for a better blood sample and to help you feel less hungry. Consult + $55 Microscope fee

Of course, this should only be booked if a live and dried blood analysis has either recently been performed at this clinic, or has been booked for prior to this follow-up visit.

Please note that prescription renewals require an appointment, whether in person or by telemedicine. That appointment should be 2 weeks before the current prescription medications will run out, to allow time for blood testing, if necessary, and the possibility of tests not happening smoothly and quickly.
