Dr. Peter Wood, R.TCM.P
After 20 years treating over 5,000 patients, I've learned to see patterns most people miss. That's what Traditional Chinese Medicine does: it reveals connections between symptoms that seem unrelated. Your digestive issues, chronic pain, and sleep problems? In Western medicine, those are three separate specialists. In TCM, they're often one pattern with one root cause.
I work with people who've been through the conventional medical system without finding answers. Maybe you've seen multiple specialists, gotten several diagnoses, tried various treatments, but you're still dealing with the same problems. That's where pattern recognition becomes essential. After treating thousands of patients, I can see what's actually happening beneath the surface symptoms.

My background is in sports medicine and performance. I understand what it means to demand a lot from your body, and I know what happens when underlying issues get ignored until they can't be ignored anymore. That athlete mentality (understanding how the body responds to stress, injury, and recovery) informs everything I do.
I use what TCM calls the "Branch and Root" approach: treat both the symptoms you're experiencing right now (the Branch) and address the underlying cause creating those symptoms (the Root). Symptom relief matters, but if we only treat symptoms without fixing the pattern, you're back where you started six months later.
I work with:
- Complex chronic conditions (digestive issues, pain, immune dysfunction)
- Sports injuries and recovery
- Atopic conditions (asthma, eczema, allergies)
- Preventative care and performance optimization
- Women's health and fertility support
My treatment combines acupuncture, herbal medicine, and patient education. The goal is helping you understand what your body's trying to tell you, so you can make informed decisions about your health.
I provide care in English and French.
