Dr. Stephanie Black was born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario. She obtained her Doctorate of Chiropractic degree with honours from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College. Prior to this, she studied Kinesiology at McMaster University and then went on to complete her Masters of Science with a research focus in sub acute concussion at the University of Victoria. In practise, Dr. Black applies an evidence-informed approach which is multidisciplinary and patient-centred. Through combinations of manual chiropractic care, movement rehabilitation and strength building exercises in addition to patient education, she is focused on re-establishing optimal function to facilitate and empower her patients’ return to doing the things that they love. Dr. Black is Active Release Technique trained and practices a diversified style of chiropractic care. You can find Steph at her local CrossFit gym, road biking around Victoria or planning her next hiking trip. Living an active lifestyle and connecting with loved ones are the ways she finds balance during her time away from the office.

You will also receive rehabilitative exercises tailored to your needs. Manual adjustments may be suggested if they are deemed beneficial for your condition. Our practitioners are highly skilled in performing manual joint mobilizations and adjustments. These are offered if indicated and if you’re comfortable with them. If you prefer not to be adjusted, just let us know—our team can provide highly effective treatment options without the use of adjustments.

She also creates customized home care routines to help you manage acute episodes effectively. In follow-up appointments, Dr. Watson will review your progress in depth while providing manual treatment, ensuring each session is as effective as possible. She uses a range of manual therapy techniques, including Active Release Technique (ART), cupping, fascial work, and instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilizations. If indicated, she may also recommend manual adjustments. However, manual adjustments are not required, and if you prefer not to have them, please let Dr. Watson know.
