About Tracey

Their own words
For over 25 years, Dr. Tracey has been at the forefront of integrative healthcare, with a strong clinical focus on Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) and Disorders of Gut-Brain Interaction (DGBIs). As both a long-time practitioner and someone who lives with IBS herself, Tracey brings a rare combination of professional insight and personal empathy to her work. She understands—firsthand and through years of patient care—how complex and life-disrupting these conditions can be, and is deeply committed to helping people find meaningful, sustainable relief. Tracey is the co-founder and host of Town Hall Medicine—The Microbiome Summit, created in collaboration with the University of Toronto. This summit brings together leading researchers and clinicians to explore the science, promise, and limitations of the gut-brain-microbiome connection—helping separate credible insights from unproven hype. In clinical practice, Tracey develops personalized care plans that integrate individualized medicine, therapeutic nutrition, and lifestyle interventions. A long-time practitioner of daily meditation, she incorporates mind-body medicine into her work, recognizing the critical role of nervous system regulation in gut health. Tracey began her journey in health at Queen’s University, earning an Honours degree in Sociology with a focus on health promotion and administration. She worked with the Heart and Stroke Foundation before completing her naturopathic medical training at The Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in 2001. Since then, she has pursued ongoing medical education throughout North America, including advanced training in mind-body medicine at Harvard Medical School’s Benson-Henry Institute. Her approach is grounded in rigorous research, extensive clinical experience, and compassionate care. Tracey believes that while the gut plays a central role in physical and mental health, effective care must always reflect the unique circumstances and lived experiences of each patient.
