Éimear Hawthorne

Éimear is a student in the dual diploma of Holistic Nutrition and Phytotherapy. They grew up in Cavan, Ireland and have been living on the unceded ancestral lands of the Lək̓ʷəŋən speaking peoples and the WSÁNEĆ peoples since 2022. Her BA in Psychology, Sociology, and Politics is blended into her approach to health and wellness. Connecting people to the wisdom of their own bodies, to plants (as food, as medicine, as comrades), and to the land - always with the vision of mutual liberation for all. Éimear's approach is also informed by the knowledge that herbalism has a long history of being the people's medicine for healing and empowerment in an anti-colonial and anti-capitalist context. In their work, awareness is present to the historical and ongoing colonial and capitalist policies that impact our food, land, health, and cultures. Éimear loves working with folks to create more resilience and space in the nervous system so that we all may show up and be sustained in our collective care work. Professional passions include food justice, sexual health, reproductive justice, queer and trans healthcare, and trauma informed care. Her personal passions include making art, crafting, reading romance and anarchist political thought pieces, floristry, poetry, music, hiking, cooking, dancing, and generally being a playful weirdo.
