Hi, my name is Eleana!
I have been a Therapy Assistant since graduating from the program in 2015. Since I was young, I have always had a passion for helping others. I have worked with both adults in assisted living facilities, and students in schools with complex and diverse needs.
Working with children to discover the right tools and strategies has been incredibly satisfying and rewarding for the last 8 years. My approach comes from understanding every child, and leading with what their strengths and passions are to give them independence and success in their lives. I believe neurodiversity-affirming practices create the best environment for children to succeed.
My therapy experience includes fine motor, gross motor, toileting, feeding, communication, emotional regulation, sensory processing, and independence skills with tasks of daily living. I have over a decade of experience working with multi disciplinary teams and forming collaborative relationships.
A fun fact about me is I was born in South Africa, but grew up in Wainwright moving there at age 4. I moved to Edmonton for University and met my husband. Edmonton has become our home with our 3 young children. I love being a mother helping my children explore and grow. You will usually find us exploring parks or trails outdoors.
