About Eleanor
“No matter the state of the world, or how dark the shadow that has fallen on our city, I find it curiously comforting to know that if you plant a seed and give it sunlight and water, it will grow.” – Sarrah Jio (All the Flowers in Paris)
We are living through an era of painful transitions for many people, as we navigate a time of significant economic, social, political, generational, and spiritual change. No matter what you are going through, no matter your source of pain or stress, you do not have to go through it alone.
As a social worker, I am a Systems Thinker. I understand that pain often comes from struggling against systems and structures one cannot control. I’m here to walk beside you while you cope with the things you cannot change, while supporting you to find what is in your control to build resilience and move forward.
When you come to therapy, you demonstrate the great strength of vulnerability. To respect your courage, I provide a compassionate, warm, and non-judgmental space where I embrace true difference with openness and understanding. In my practice, I have worked with populations that include not only diverse identities, but also those with diverse political, spiritual, and philosophical beliefs.
I want to understand you, as a unique individual navigating pain and stress, and learn how you may think or feel in a way that is unique from others. I will support you to better understand yourself, process difficult experiences, uncover unhelpful patterns, and develop necessary coping strategies.
Here’s a brief overview of my key practice areas:
Trauma, Anxiety, Depression, & Self-Esteem: I work with individuals navigating mental health challenges including anxiety, depression, stress, and self-esteem issues. My work with survivors of torture has informed my practice working with PTSD, where I will work with you to reclaim a sense of safety.
Grief, Loss, & Ambiguous Loss: There is little that is more painful or overwhelming than losing a loved one or experiencing another significant loss. Ambiguous loss may take many forms, which may include anticipatory grief (i.e., death that has not yet arrived), the spiritual loss of a relationship or sense of identity. I offer compassionate and grounded support for those navigating grief and loss in all its forms, helping you find meaning and resilience through your own unique healing process.
Loneliness, Alienation, & Relationship Concerns: I provide a safe and compassionate space for those who feel lonely or alienated, including couples or singles navigating relationship concerns (platonic, romantic, or familial).
Life Transitions & Change: Throughout life, we will all at some point navigate changes we do not necessarily welcome. Change and life transitions are however a part of life, and together we can work to adjust to your new reality or mourn the loss of what is past.
Burnout & Systemic Challenges: It can be exhausting to advocate for yourself within systems that are bigger than yourself. As a social worker, I am passionate about supporting individuals navigating systemic inequities, whether this be in workplaces, healthcare, or other organizational systems. Together we can process frustration, grief, and burnout while cultivating resilience.
Spiritual Crises & Awakenings, Existentialism, Identity & Purpose: For those that feel a sense of restriction in that life is more than the system that surrounds us, I provide a safe, open-minded, and compassionate space to navigate spiritual awakenings and existentialist crises. Whether you are religious or spiritual, I am here to help you process your experiences.

My practicum and work experience has included working with populations such as formerly incarcerated prisoners transitioning back into the community, refugee survivors of state and military-sanctioned torture, political asylees, and patients navigating chronic disease such as leukemia and other blood cancers.
Beyond the Work: Outside of therapy, I love writing, dogs, geopolitics, and exploring life’s deeper meanings and mysteries. I enjoy reading, the beauty of the Pacific Northwest, and watching scary movies.
