I come alongside my clients and help them work towards personal growth, healing, and well-being. Clients come to see me for many different reasons: relationship difficulties, stress, anxiety, depression, anger, mood swings, unwanted habits, career concerns, and other issues. These struggles and challenges can be overcome with help and support.
I am registered with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors, and I have a Masters Degree in Counselling Psychology. I have over 20 years of experience helping individuals in non-profit organizations, government agencies, and faith communities. I offer a supportive and personalized approach for each client, and draw upon several different techniques and strategies.
Treatment approaches that I use include: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to restructure negative & unhelpful thought patterns; Emotionally-Focussed Therapy and attachment theory to foster healthy relationships and emotional growth; Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to develop psychological flexibility, and help clients live out their values; and Mindfulness to help clients develop a better relationship with their thoughts, emotions and bodies and live more in the present moment.
I also work with clients whose spirituality, religion, or faith is an important aspect of their life, and we often incorporate this dimension into counselling if clients wish to do so.
Life is a journey. At times, it is a difficult one that is full of challenges, but you don't need to take on those struggles alone. Contact me and we can discuss whether I can help you on your journey.
