Elisha Veldhuijzen is a registered Acupuncturist (CCHPBC), a Reiki Master (of the Usui Ryoho lineage) and a Psychosomatic Practitioner. Her diverse education includes photojournalism, floristry and applied theatre. Her passion for creating balance and curiosity about what it means for all of us to be human can be seen in her approach to health and wellness. Elisha earned her Acupuncture education from Pacific Rim College in Victoria, BC and was licensed in 2022. She recently completed her Psychosomatic Practitioner certification with the Integrative Psych Institute — Arizona, USA. Elisha has been dedicated to a holistic approach to wellness, as demonstrated in her work of many years as a Reiki Master and Shi Liao (food therapy) coach. Passionate about mental and emotional wellness, she brings (combines science and intuition) a holistic (scientific and intuitive) approach to supporting health to mind, body and spirit. She teaches Qigong and Shi Liao (food therapy) to her patients, aiming to empower them to find a balance that leads to greater happiness and fulfillment from within. First-generation-born Australian Elisha grew up with a rich introduction to multiculturalism. At age 20, Elisha lived in Europe, later immigrating to Canada in 2006. Now, as an enthusiastic Taoist, she offers her deeply compassionate space-holding skills, combined with her culturally rich life experience, in all treatment spaces. Elisha practices Traditional Chinese Medicine, Somatic Therapy and Reiki from a safe and compassionate world lens; she is trauma-informed, gender-inclusive, and an ally of LGBTQIA2+. When not in treatment with patients, Elisha can be found hiking and foraging in the magical forests of Vancouver Island with her friends and her sweetheart dog.

This treatment utilizes the auricular acupuncture system. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the ear is seen as a micro-system of the entire body. Using just a few points in each ear to access a deep state of relaxation and support a wide range of ailments from chronic pain, nervous system disregulation, stress, insomnia, weight loss, addiction recovery, and more. This treatment may include body acupressure in addition to ear points. This treatment is not suitable for those with dizziness or are prone to feinting*

Avery is a Registered Acupuncturist and Clinical Herbalist who can prescribe individualized herbal medicine in addition to providing acupuncture treatment and adjunctive techniques. Choose this option if you are interested in both acupuncture treatment and exploring herbal medicine. This appointment is billable to insurance. Please note: Individualized herbal prescriptions are an additional cost and not typically covered by insurance.

For expecting mothers at 36 weeks of pregnancy onwards, this treatment is designed to help nurture, support and prepare your body to give birth. Weekly Acupuncture is recommended and encouraged to prepare for labour and delivery. Please note: If you are not yet 36 weeks pregnant please book a regular Initial Acupuncture Appointment.
The initial consultation will include an in-depth look at each system of the body. A detailed overview will be provided after the consultation, and may include nutritional and lifestyle suggestions along with individualized herbal prescriptions. Please note: This appointment is not covered by extended health insurance. Individualized herbal prescriptions are an additional cost.

Please note that your skin may be slightly red and sensitive for up to 24 hours post treatment. Please do not use retinol or retinoid products for at least 3 days prior to your appointment. There is also no sweating, no wearing makeup and no direct sun exposure for 24 hours post treatment as well. For your safety, please be sure to inform your practitioner if you have had Botox, Dysport, or other neuromodulators in the past 3 weeks. Unfortunately microneedling is not possible if you are pregnant.
