Emi Nedoborski
About Emi
Their own wordsEmi provides a supportive, non-judgmental space for clients to share and explore new approaches to their personal challenges. She offers counselling for adult individuals and couples, using a holistic, tailored approach focused on specific goals. She integrates methods from various theories, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Attachment Theory, Mindfulness, and Solution-focused Therapy. In each session, Emi meets the client with acceptance, compassion, and understanding.
Emi works with individuals and couples facing concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, grief, or relational issues, and/or with experiences of trauma, abuse, or neglect. She helps extend therapy beyond sessions and into daily life, so as to make meaningful steps towards the life clients want to live. Throughout the course of therapy, Emi checks in to get the client’s feedback on the collaborative process and to make sure therapy is working to meet everyone’s expectations. She helps clients who feel stuck and ready for things to be different by investigating a new way forward.
Emi is a Registered Psychotherapist with the CRPO, holding a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master’s in Counselling Psychology. In addition to her formal degrees, she has training in Non-violent Crisis Intervention, Applied Suicide Intervention Skills, and Complex Trauma. She has experience in private practice, counselling clients of diverse gender identities, sexual orientations, cultural and spiritual origins, and socioeconomic statuses.
In her personal time, Emi enjoys physical activity, playing games, nurturing her house plants, and connecting with friends and family.
