Eric Hadley, RCC
About Eric
Their own wordsIf obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviours have been running the show, or you're looking for a therapist to work through anxiety, life's harder chapters or a search for meaning, Eric has spent years in rooms with people navigating exactly that. He works with a broad range of clients: adults, teens, couples and families.
Eric draws on existential and humanist approaches to therapy. In the room, that often looks like exploring your thoughts and feelings as they arise in the present moment, and forming a different relationship with them. Eric has seen this approach produce radical shifts for people experiencing unwanted obsessive thoughts, worries and distressing feelings.
Eric does his best work with clients experiencing obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviours, and with clients working through anxiety, life transitions or questions of meaning. As a gay man, Eric is passionate about providing nonjudgmental support to all human beings regardless of their identity.
Eric describes his sessions as a shared piece of work between him and the person across from him, and hopes that clients leave feeling that he genuinely cared about and sought to understand their unique human experience. He also teaches in the Bachelor of Music Therapy program at Capilano University, drawing on a background that began in music therapy before counselling.
