About Erin
My name is Erin, and I am a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology intern therapist, completing my practicum placement with Connected Counselling Services.
I believe in showing up authentically as a "fellow traveller" and a partner on your journey. I offer a safe, non-judgmental space, where we can get curious about your story and explore why you might be feeling stuck or unsure of yourself or your relationships.
My collaborative, person-centred, trauma-informed approach is rooted in warmth and empathy for those navigating life's challenges. I integrate "top-down" cognitive therapies to explore thoughts and behaviours, with "bottom-up" somatic practices like mindfulness to help you connect with your body's wisdom and facilitate healing.
Before and during my clinical training with Yorkville University, I spent many years in diverse educational and mentorship roles with children, teens, and adults. I’m passionate about supporting young people, families and caregivers in building strong attachment relationships. Feeling seen and less isolated during demanding life seasons ranging from pregnancy, postpartum, empty nesting, or during challenging mental or physical health diagnosis, can build resiliency and an increased sense of agency.
As a parent myself, I genuinely understand the complexities of managing the different roles we play, while still prioritizing personal growth and self-care.
My lived experience has shown me that therapy is not “one size fits all.” I lead with an inclusive and neurodivergent affirming approach that focuses on self-acceptance and self-advocacy. I will meet you where you are at, and together we’ll explore your identity, integrating culture and spirituality along with the personal values and practices that matter most in your life. You set the pace for our work, and we'll collaborate on building strategies that align with your goals.
My professional training includes helping clients who are neurodivergent (ADHDers, autism and more); managing anxiety and stress; depression and emotional regulation issues; grief counselling, including suicide loss; relational trauma and supporting gender-based violence survivors.
When I’m “off the clock” I’m inspired and calmed by nature-based experiences, swimming at a local beach, digging in my garden, propagating my many houseplants, or just being outdoors. I also find joy in creative endeavors: writing poetry, making art, taking photographs and creating beautiful meals to share with others. I love podcasts, good coffee and meaningful conversations.
I am looking forward to meeting with you! Please don't hesitate to book in with me now for a free 15 minute consult.
