Erin Van Patter
About Erin
Their own wordsErin focuses on helping teens (12+), adults (18-99), and families improve their wellness and manage their mental health. She can help alleviate symptoms of anxiety, depression, trauma symptoms, stress/burnout, BPD, and other mental health diagnoses and issues. Using a client-centered approach, she incorporates various evidence-based modalities into her practice, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, mindfulness, strengths-based work, and components of Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT).
Her professional approach places emphasis on building a strong and trusting relationship, so that each client feels seen, heard, and understood throughout the time spent together. Her non-judgmental and anti-oppressive practice often includes humour and always includes a great deal of empathy to make the experience as comfortable and as positive as possible.
Erin’s approach works best with folks who are curious about themselves and the world they live in, interested in making change in their life, and looking for a productive yet relaxed therapeutic experience.
