Orofacial Myofunctional Therapist. Both my children were born in the UK. My first child was born in 2010 and I had a very difficult time breastfeeding and suddenly had to learn to navigate painful feedings and my baby’s tongue tie. Baby number 2 came along it was yet another game of tongue ties and apneic episodes. At the same time, my (now) 4 year old child was frequently choking on food and water. At that time, I found very little support available for these issues. I was then lucky enough to find Jennifer Tow - who is an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and an Orofacial Myofunctional Therapist (OMT). Jennifer explained the difficulties I was facing and once I understood, I was hooked. I fell into the world of fascial work, tongue ties, lactation, gut-healing and physiological living. After moving back to Canada, I changed my career from Early Childhood Education to becoming an Orofacial Myofunctional Therapist (training with Sandra Coulsen, OMT). I have also been trained in the Gillespie Approach (Craniosacral Fascial Therapy). I have a keen interest in body mechanics, nutrition, biohacking, airway growth, jaw development/TMJ issues, Upper Airway Resistance System (UARS), and how systemic inflammation can impact connective tissues. Working with babies and children has been incredibly illuminating. It has also allowed me to see the growth trajectory with results in my adult clients. I value providing care for the whole family. How we eat and live impacts the way we grow and play!
