Exchiela Benusic
I am a Registered Psychologist in BC and Alberta and offer counselling and assessment services to residents in both provinces.
In my practice, I support clients who are experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, stress, trauma, chronic pain and exhaustion. Life can be hard sometimes and my clients often tell me that they have so much going on in their lives that they're struggling to manage their emotions. Many of my clients identify themselves as being helpers, healers, caregivers, entrepreneurs, advocates, rescuers and empaths and are having a hard time finding balance in their lives. If you're tired of managing alone and want to find some peace or clarity in your life, or simply want to feel better emotionally, you've come to the right place.

An career assessment consists of an interview and two assessments that measure one's interests, strengths, and career values. It is used to help people understand their work interests and to illustrate the kinds of work in which they might be most satisfied. It will also bring insight into why one is experiencing dissatisfaction with their current career and identify values that one wishes to see satisfied in their ideal career.
Our Focused Adult ADHD Assessment is a streamlined assessment designed for adults (18+) seeking diagnostic clarification regarding Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). This assessment is ideal for individuals who are experiencing symptoms such as difficulties with attention, organization, executive functioning, impulsivity, or hyperactivity and would like to determine whether they meet the diagnostic criteria for ADHD. The assessment is completed under the supervision of a Registered Psychologist and includes a structured clinical interview, standardized assessment measures, cognitive screening, and a diagnostic review. This is a focused ADHD assessment and is intended for individuals whose primary concern is ADHD. If there are concerns related to learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, intellectual functioning, significant memory concerns, or complex diagnostic presentations, a Comprehensive Psychological or Psychoeducational Assessment may be recommended instead.

A psycho-educational assessment involves examining how an individual is developing in regards to the psychological processes that underlie learning (i.e. language processing, phonological processing, fine-motor/graphomotor processing, executive functioning, visual-spatial processing, processing speed, and working memory); their acquisition of academic skills in reading, writing and math, and their social/emotional and behavioral functioning (i.e. attention and concentration, depression, anxiety). This assessment is completed with adults to help identity underlying disabilities (i.e. learning disabilities, ADHD and associated disorders) which may be impacting academic/work, social, and/or overall psychological well-being.
A screening assessment is an opportunity to determine whether it makes sense to proceed with a diagnostic assessment. It will include you answering questions about your history and experience, psychometric screeners, a review of submitted information, a report based on the answers and psychometric scores, and a recommendation on whether or not it makes sense to proceed with part 2.
