I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC). I have been working in the mental health services field for close to 20 years in variety of areas including youth detox programs, forensic psychiatric services, tertiary mental health residential sites, and return to work psychological supports and services. It is my view that the underpinning of effective counselling is an open and safe space that emphasizes self-discovery and exploration with skilled guidance and support. These essentials, coupled with genuine care and compassion, create an optimal environment for true introspection, self awareness and continued learning; leading to happier and more meaningful lives. I strongly believe in the power of talk, and the importance of meaningful connection in our lives. As social beings, our sense of self, purpose and belonging are vital to our mental health and overall wellbeing. The counselling experience affords us the opportunity to honestly explore our emotions, thoughts and behaviours, as well as identify barriers, and work toward change so that we can live life more fully. I work with youth, adults as well as parents and couples. I offer equine-assisted therapy as a gentle, meaningful way to support healing, growth, and connection. Working alongside horses can create space for reflection, self-awareness, and emotional regulation in a way that feels grounding and natural. Horses have a unique way of meeting us exactly where we are, often helping us notice what is happening beneath the surface without pressure or judgment. This is non mounted and you do not need to have horse experience to engage.
