When meeting with her clients, Hilary prefers to utilize a range of therapeutic approaches that best meet the needs of each client as a unique individual. Some of the primary approaches that Hilary draws from include acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), person-centred therapy, compassion-focused therapy (CFT), mindfulness, and cognitive-based approaches. In addition to traditional therapeutic approaches, Hilary practices from an intersectional, anti-oppressive, and holistic lens to ensure that clients feel safe, respected, and understood.
