Hong (Hongshik) Kim is a Registered Acupuncturist and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Practitioner. To further deepen his expertise in TCM, he has continued studying various acupuncture techniques, including Master Tung, Dr. Tan’s Balance Method, and numerous Korean acupuncture styles. In addition, he incorporates acupressure, electro-acupuncture, cupping, and facial acupuncture into his TCM practice. Furthermore, he is a certified instructor of Healing Tao’s Abdominal Organ Qi Massage (Chi Nei Tsang)—a Thai technique that supports organ harmony, reduces belly fat, relieves constipation, and promotes healthy digestion. He was also honored as one of the top acupuncturists on the A-List by Maple Ridge–Pitt Meadows News, and recognized among the Top 3 Acupuncture Clinics in Maple Ridge by Three Best Rated. He holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration (Finance) from Korea University in South Korea and previously worked for a public company for several years. However, when his son began to suffer from severe pain due to Iliotibial Band Syndrome, he was inspired to find alternative ways to help him. This led him to complete an Acupressure course through the Seobong Meridian Acupressure Association in South Korea, and eventually graduate from PCU College of Holistic Medicine in British Columbia after immigrating to Canada. To this day, he remains passionate about using his knowledge to support those in need. He truly believes in the power of TCM and its ability to help people in ways modern medicine sometimes cannot.

This acupuncture method is based on the homunculus map of the cerebral cortex, a scientific brain map showing how the brain’s motor and sensory regions control specific parts of the body. It was first discovered by Canadian neurosurgeon Dr. Wilder Penfield and later developed into a clinical acupuncture system by Professor Lee Chul-Hyung, Ph.D., in Korea. By stimulating scalp zones and extraordinary points on the hands and feet, this treatment helps regulate brain function and harmonize communication between the brain and body. It is particularly effective for neurological and psychosomatic conditions such as insomnia, depression, memory impairment, emotional imbalance, eye disorders, lower back pain, and joint pain, by activating cortical pathways related to motor and sensory regulation. Through reflexive stimulation of the brain’s motor and sensory lines, this therapy promotes systemic homeostasis and restores the body’s natural self-regulating balance. This extended session also includes cupping and silver gua sha to improve circulation, release stagnation, and relieve both physical and emotional tension. Gentle acupressure is incorporated to promote deep relaxation and restore harmony between the brain and body, supporting inner stability, vitality, and a calm, balanced state of mind.

In Traditional East Asian Medicine, the face is regarded as a microcosm of the entire body. Specific facial points correspond to the pelvis, uterus, kidneys, bladder, and reproductive organs. Through a combination of facial and body acupuncture, this treatment addresses the whole body as one integrated system, enhancing internal balance and restoring overall harmony. By stimulating these facial and body points, acupuncture supports women’s health and hormonal balance, helping regulate menstrual cycles, PMS, infertility, menopausal symptoms, and urinary disorders such as incontinence, urgency, and nocturia. This extended session includes cupping and silver gua sha on the back, along with facial and body acupuncture, to enhance circulation, release stagnation, and relieve both physical and emotional tension. It is also particularly effective in reducing overall body edema, promoting smoother lymphatic flow and improving metabolism. Gentle acupressure is also applied to support deeper relaxation and restore harmony between the body and mind, helping relieve chronic hormonal imbalance, fatigue, and stress, while enhancing overall vitality and inner balance.
