A baseline concussion evaluation provides a snapshot of an individual's cognitive and physical functioning when they are healthy and uninjured. It serves as a reference point for comparison in the event of a suspected concussion or head injury. By establishing baseline measures of cognitive function, balance, coordination, and other relevant factors, healthcare providers can more accurately assess the severity of a concussion, track recovery progress, and make informed decisions regarding return-to-play or return-to-work protocols. This proactive approach helps ensure timely and appropriate management of concussions, reducing the risk of potential complications and promoting optimal recovery outcomes.
Book this appointment if you have sustained a head injury and are currently experiencing symptoms, following your assessment. A concussion follow-up visit is crucial to evaluate the ongoing severity of the injury and monitor any potential complications. It helps to determine if there's any continued damage to the brain, assess cognitive function, monitor for ongoing symptoms such as headaches or dizziness, and ensure that appropriate management and treatment are continuing to promote recovery. Early and consistent management of concussions can prevent long-term complications and promote optimal recovery outcomes.
