Hand therapy is the non-surgical management of hand disorders and injuries using physical methods such as exercise, splinting and wound care. Hand therapists also treat other upper limb disorders (elbow, forearm and wrist) that affect hand function.

For eligibility to the program, any health care provider on the customer’s treatment team (with a supplementary MD diagnosis documentation for customer concussion where possible) may refer a customer to the EACR Program, directing the referral to the customer’s ICBC Recovery Specialist so that ICBC can review whether customer meets the eligibility criteria for funding approval.

The Cancer Rehabilitation Program provides individualized, prescribed rehabilitation to people diagnosed with cancer at any stage; helping them heal as well as possible and to function at optimal levels through every stage of their treatment and recovery. It consists of 1-1 appointments with Jackie, our physiotherapist who is certified in the PINC Cancer Rehabilitation program (specifically for women with cancer).

Your Physiotherapist will assess your condition and determine if IMS/Dry Needling is ideal for you. Dry Needling Intramuscular Stimulation (IMS) is a modern approach that uses sterile, single-use disposable needles, with the main goal to release myofascial trigger points, and is effective for treating a multitude of musculoskeletal problems. This therapy relies on in-and-out needle insertion making this therapy different from acupuncture (in which the needle stay inserted in the skin for longer period of time).

Your Physiotherapist will assess your condition and determine if Laser Therapy is ideal for you. Laser therapy is a non-surgical treatment that uses specific wavelengths of light (red and near-infrared) to create therapeutic effects. The light that is transmitted via the laser helps stimulate certain processes within the body that help provide relief to symptoms including pain, swelling, and limited range of motion. We offer Class 4, which is a higher power laser that produces heat and allows for deeper penetration into tissues, leading to more efficient and faster results than lower-powered lasers.

Shockwave Therapy is a non-surgical option often utilized in the treatment of musculoskeletal conditions (involving connective tissues such as tendons and ligaments), and it is an effective modality for pain management and to increase function/mobility in various conditions

Telehealth Physiotherapy connects patients with our Physiotherapists through videoconferencing, electronic consultations and virtual communications, in lieu of in-person consultations so that you are still able to receive the support you need. These services are eligible for coverage under most insurance companies, so there will be little out of pocket expense. Please note that we do need to ensure that you have access to video & audio via a computer or iPad/iPhone in order to connect with the therapist.

Due to the COVID19 outbreak, our clinics have had to suspend in-clinic services. However, we are excited to announce will be offering Telehealth services for Physiotherapy! Telehealth connects patients to healthcare providers through videoconferencing, electronic consultations and virtual communications, in lieu of in-person consultations so you are still able to receive the support you need while our in-clinic services are suspended. These services are eligible for coverage under most insurance companies, so there will be little out of pocket expense. Please note that we do need to ensure that you have access to a webcam and computer in order to connect with the therapist

During your assessment, your physiotherapist will ask you questions about your symptoms and perform a variety of objective tests to determine the cause of your dizziness or vertigo. You will discuss a treatment plan, which may involve repositioning maneuvers or vestibular rehabilitation exercises.

Your assessment will only be able to be direct billed to WSBC if your claim is: within 60 days since your date of injury or surgery, your claim is pending & you have an accepted injury on your claim or your claim is already accepted, you have not received previous treatment under your claim, and you are not participating in another discipline of treatment on your claim. If you are unsure if your claim meets the aforementioned requirements, please call our clinic. When calling please be ready to confirm your WSBC claim number & your Personal Health Number (PHN). If your claim does not meet these aforementioned requirements, please be prepared to pay privately until we can confirm with WSBC if they will cover your treatment.
