Jess West
Before sharing my background, I want to take a moment to acknowledge all that had to come together for you to land on this page. Whether you’re at the beginning of your therapeutic journey, have been in it for years, or are simply unsure of your next step, I’m grateful you’re here. It takes courage to seek support at any stage of life, and I’m honoured to be a potential part of your journey.
While I could say a lot about the work we might do together, therapy is ultimately a felt and relational experience - one that is unique to each person. My intention is to create a grounded, compassionate, and safe space where we can gently explore what’s beneath the surface. I aim to support you in reconnecting with your authentic self, the version of you that existed before life’s challenges required you to adapt, protect, or perform in order to feel loved, safe, or successful. My approach is down-to-earth, collaborative, and deeply attuned.

Many of us carry an inner critical voice that can cloud our sense of clarity, self-trust, and connection. My work is grounded in humanistic and experiential approaches, and I integrate elements of Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), somatic therapy, narrative therapy, and strengths-based, solution-focused perspectives.
Together, we explore how your inner world - your emotions, unconscious beliefs, and embodied experiences - shapes the way you relate to yourself, others, and your life story. I support clients in developing awareness of these patterns, deepening emotional processing, and cultivating new, more compassionate ways of relating to themselves. I believe meaningful change emerges through a balance of awareness, acceptance, and intentional action, allowing you to move toward a more aligned and authentic way of being.
At its core, this work is about you. I am here to walk alongside you with care and curiosity as you reconnect with parts of yourself that may have felt distant, silenced, or lost. Like a kelp frond, we can learn to stay deeply rooted while also remaining flexible and responsive to life’s changing tides.
Outside of my work, I find joy in movement! It’s my form of medicine. I love spending time with my vibrant toddler and our fluffy dog, being playful, exploring nature, and hiking through the forest. I’m also someone who enjoys moving my body in many ways, from hot yoga and cycling to weight training and running. In quieter moments, you’ll often find me experimenting in the kitchen, sometimes pickling more vegetables than I know what to do with.
If any part of this speaks to you, I would love to connect. Reaching out can be the beginning of something meaningful.
