Professional Background Kalie brings nearly two decades of experience working in social services, education, mental health and wellness, community leadership, and clinical counselling, bringing a deep understanding of human behavior, resilience, and healing into the therapeutic space. She has extensive experience supporting individuals and families navigating trauma, mental health challenges, and significant life transitions. Education Kalie has a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology and is a Certified Canadian Counsellor (CCC) through the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. She also holds a Diploma in Child and Youth Care, a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, and a Master’s Certificate in Project Management, bringing together extensive experience in human services, leadership, and clinical practice to support individuals in creating meaningful and lasting change. Clinical Counselling Kalie offers a warm, compassionate, and collaborative approach to therapy, grounded in the belief that healing happens in the context of safe and authentic relationships. Her practice is informed by an integrative and holistic perspective that considers both a person’s internal experiences and the broader contexts that shape wellbeing, including relationships, family systems, culture, community, and life circumstances. Kalie understands that our struggles do not occur in isolation and believes meaningful healing often involves exploring not only thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations, but also the environments and experiences that have shaped who we are. Her work is deeply informed by attachment theory, nervous system health, and trauma-informed care. She integrates evidence-based approaches including Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, and somatic/body-based interventions to support each client’s unique needs and goals. Kalie works with youth and adults experiencing mental health concerns, the impacts of trauma, grief and loss, burnout, life transitions, relationship and health challenges, and substance use concerns. She has a particular passion for supporting helping professionals, caregivers, parents, and others who have spent much of their lives caring for those around them and are now seeking space to reconnect with themselves. She also has a special interest in women’s health and wellness across the lifespan – supporting individuals as they navigate major life transitions, including motherhood, perimenopause and menopause, changes in identity, caregiving responsibilities, and health challenges. Drawing from both professional and lived experience as a young breast cancer survivor, Kalie understands the profound ways that illness, loss, and life transitions can shape a person’s relationship with themselves, their bodies, and the people they love.
