Kate Pinsonneault
Hi! I'm glad you found me.
As a clinician, I worked primarily with people who have been deeply hurt. Many experienced complex relational trauma as children and held negative beliefs about themselves. For these individuals, relationships were challenging a they would act instinctually to protect themselves from being hurt again. Many found it difficult to trust. My work focused on healing past wounds that were driving self-protective behaviours, so they could be their authentic Self, choosing what they want to do rather than impulsively reacting.

Currently, I am working as a Clinical Supervisor. My practice continues to be founded in caring, acceptance, compassion, and cultural sensitivity. I meet each supervisee exactly where they are, without judgement. I accept that counsellors are individuals and also have parts that may react to their clients.
While taking a developmental approach, I also see issues that might arise for counsellors through attachment, IFS, and neurosequential lenses. I work collaboratively with each supervisee to identify strengths and competencies as well as emerging skills and challenges. My role is to support you in your personal and professional development to become the counsellor you want to be for your clients. My hope is that through supervision, I can help you advance your clinical skills, build your resources, understand your professional and ethical responsibilities, and move forward with renewed confidence.
I'm an Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS) with BCACC and an Approved Clinical Consultant with the IFS Institute. I am all certified in the Nuerosequencial Model of Reflective Supervision offered by Bruce Perry. I am also a Supervisor of Supervisors (SOS) with the BCACC,
In addition to being a Certified IFS therapist, I am also Certified in Infant Mental Health (CIMH) and I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP). I am trained in a variety of therapeutic approaches including EMDR, Dialectic Behavioural Therapy, Accelerated Resolution Therapy, Sand Tray Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Intimacy From the Inside Out (IFIO), Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy, Brief Solution-Focused Therapy, and others.
As a Clinical Supervisor, I enjoy working with all experience levels from practicum students to master counsellors and new supervisors. I offer individual supervision, small groups of 2-4 and larger groups of 5-8. I also provide IFS consultation groups for IFS therapists and can assist you in completing the requirements for IFS Certification. In addition, I provide supervision mentorship and professional support to qualifying supervisors through the BCACC's ACS program.
It truly is my honour to offer you support, guidance and mentorship as you move towards your professional goals and become the professional counsellor you are meant to be.
