About Katelyn
Their own wordsWelcome to Meadowland Psychology Services. I'm Katelyn Amiel, a Registered Psychologist in BC and Alberta.
Are you ready to make a change? Looking to gain a deeper understanding of yourself? When life is busy and stressful and overwhelming, it can feel impossible to set aside time to focus on yourself, so I want to commend you for that! You're already doing the hard work to get back to feeling like yourself! My clients are motivated to learn more about themselves, their thoughts and patterns, and new ways of coping. They may be struggling with depression, stress, anxiety, self-esteem, trauma, or grief. Therapy provides a safe place to explore problems, gain insight, and develop coping skills.
My practice is trauma-informed and collaborative (you are the expert of YOU). I use a range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches, integrating mindfulness-based techniques, CBT, narrative therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy. I have specialized knowledge and experience working with survivors of sexual violence and acquired brain injuries.
I recognize that healing is a deeply personal journey, and I aim to guide clients with sensitivity and respect, while honoring their unique stories and strengths. I believe in the power of a therapeutic relationship built on trust and empathy, and I strive to establish a strong connection with each person I work with.
