Keegan is passionate about supporting people in their journey to return to optimal hand function after an injury. Keegan is originally from South Africa. She graduated from the University of Cape Town with a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy in 2011. She has since developed a special interest in treating upper limb conditions and earned her Certified Hand Therapist designation in 2021. Her professional experience has been in the Richmond hospital outpatient inflammatory arthritis program and the hand therapy program. She has also worked in an occupational rehabilitation program which involves developing gradual return to work plans for injured workers. She has treated a variety of musculoskeletal injuries, joint replacements, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, repetitive strain, burns, wounds, tendon repairs, and fractures. She has a passion for making custom, hand crafted splints. She also provides detailed ergonomic assessments for work and home environments. She divides her clinical time between the Vancouver Hand Clinic and the Richmond Hospital hand clinic. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and children, swimming, cycling, hiking, and skiing.
