About Kendra
I am a trauma-informed therapist and I work with adult individuals. My approach blends somatic, body-based methods with Internal Family Systems (IFS), also known as parts work. In therapy, I support people in exploring the many parts of themselves and understanding how these parts have helped them navigate life. With compassion and gentleness, we move toward parts that may be stuck in the past, caught in unhelpful patterns, or holding pain and hurt—supporting them in releasing burdens and narratives that are no longer needed, or were never theirs to carry.
Through this process, I help individuals reconnect with themselves, heal old wounds, and feel more grounded and empowered in their lives. I show up with warmth, curiosity, and presence, walking alongside clients as they move toward deeper self-understanding and embodiment, creating more freedom in how they relate to both their inner and outer worlds.
As a social worker, I am also attuned to the broader systems and structures that shape and burden us in different ways. In collaboration, I hope to deepen our shared critical consciousness around how these systems—and the narratives they create—become internalized and woven into everyday life. Through this work, we can name their impacts and begin to identify meaningful and compassionate forms of resistance.
Below are some of the key areas I support in my work:
Trauma, PTSD & C-PTSD: I support individuals in navigating the lasting impacts of trauma and in softening survival strategies that are no longer helpful, with the goal of cultivating greater safety within the body. By connecting with parts that remain frozen in traumatic experiences, we can work together to support their healing and integration, allowing them to take on new roles within your internal system.
Anxiety, Depression & Chronic Stress: I work with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, and the effects of chronic stress. Through embodied, compassion-focused exploration, I help people gently soften the expectations, judgments, and shame that can maintain distress and emotional overwhelm.
Chronic Pain & Chronic Illness: As someone who lives with chronic illness and chronic pain, I bring both personal understanding and clinical care to this work. I support clients in listening to their bodies’ inner wisdom and recognizing how chronic stress and exiled emotions can impact physical health. Together, we explore a balance between acceptance and change, making space for the full emotional experience of living with illness or pain, while also identifying moments of hope, meaning, joy, and peace.
Attachment Wounds, Relational Patterns & Emotional Regulation: Not all trauma is “big” trauma. Early relational experiences—such as how caregivers attuned to our emotional needs or offered comfort—can have lasting impacts on how we experience emotions, view ourselves, and relate to others. By identifying the unmet needs of younger parts, we can begin to understand relational patterns that feel stuck, or emotional reactions that arise seemingly “out of nowhere.” Through offering these parts compassion and presence, we create opportunities for corrective and healing experiences, supporting greater flexibility and freedom in relationships.
Cultural, Systemic & Structural Burdens: By naming and identifying the impact of harmful systems and de-individualizing responses to structural oppression, I support individuals in recognizing how these forces shape their experiences. Together, we explore opportunities for resistance, resilience, and the creation or strengthening of communities of care.
