About Kip

Their own words
Kip completed his Master of Social Work with a clinical specialization at the University of Calgary, following a Bachelor of Social Work at the University of Calgary and Social Work Diploma from MacEwan University. He has been working in the field since 2017 across diverse settings, including youth services, family support, and community organizations. Over the years, Kip has supported youth, families, and adults through life transitions, helping them to tap into their own resiliencies and live meaningful lives. He particularly enjoy working with youth and families navigating complex challenges, as well as individuals seeking to strengthen their relationships and overall well-being. Clients often tell Kip they appreciate his approachable and supportive style. He wants clients to know that he believes counselling is a collaborative process — you work together to identify strengths, build resilience, and create meaningful change at a pace that feels right for you. Inspirational Quote: “Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.” – Martin Luther King, Jr. How do you believe counselling can help? Counselling provides a safe and supportive space to explore challenges, gain new perspectives, and develop practical strategies for coping and growth. I believe it helps clients connect with their inner strengths, improve relationships, and move toward living in alignment with their values and goals. Your approach to counselling: My approach is relational, strengths-based, and trauma-informed, drawing on modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). I integrate these tools with an attachment-focused perspective to support both healing and long-term resilience. Kip’s interaction style is gentle and laid-back. He uses humour in sessions when appropriate.
