My name is Kris (he/him), and I am a student counsellor completing my Masters in Counselling Psychology through Yorkville University. Starting therapy can feel scary or uncomfortable, and reaching out is a brave first step. It takes courage to share our struggles, and I deeply respect the strength it takes to begin this journey. Before becoming a counsellor, I worked as a paramedic and in healthcare, where I both witnessed and experienced the impact that stress, trauma, and life’s challenges can have on people. These experiences shaped my commitment to creating a safe, supportive space where clients feel heard, understood, and not alone. My approach is grounded in compassion and empathy, and I view therapy as a partnership. What matters most to me is that you never feel alone in the process. My role is to provide a space where you feel comfortable exploring your thoughts and emotions at your own pace. When it feels right, I’ll gently encourage new perspectives to help you grow, build resilience, and move toward your goals. I work with children ages 8 and up. When I’m not working, you can usually find me walking my dog, out in nature, practicing yoga, or swimming in whatever lake, river, or ocean I come across. Services Kris offers: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) Internal Family Systems (IFS) Informed Practices Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) Informed Practices Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) Mindfulness-based Interventions Narrative Therapy Areas of Focus: Trauma Anxiety Depression First Responders Medical Health Professionals Burnout and Caregiver Fatigue Boundaries and Communication Chronic Illnesses Relationships Mindfulness and self-compassion

I offer equine-assisted therapy as a gentle, meaningful way to support healing, growth, and connection. Working alongside horses can create space for reflection, self-awareness, and emotional regulation in a way that feels grounding and natural. Horses have a unique way of meeting us exactly where we are, often helping us notice what is happening beneath the surface without pressure or judgment. This is non mounted and you do not need to have horse experience to engage.
