Their own wordsKukua (Kay) is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) She completed her Bachelor of Arts in Forensic Psychology at Carleton University and has graduated with a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University.
Kay also works as an educational therapist where she supports children with learning challenges and/or neurodiversities to pursue their academic achievements in a conducive space.
Kay is currently accepting youth and adult clients for in-person and virtual appointment. She looks forward to supporting client with general mental health concerns including anxiety, social anxiety, low self-esteem, school/work stress, emotional regulation, low mood.
Limited diversity in the mental health profession inspired Kay to pursue a career in counselling psychology with a goal of providing representation for people of colour as well as the underrepresented in our society.
Kay is interested in helping people develop the skills to navigate their challenges using a strengths-based approach. She has a passion for supporting youth at risk or involved with the criminal justice system. She aims to create a safe and non-judgemental space for her clients as they navigate their challenges and develop the skills to cope with them.
