She obtained her Masters Degree in Psychotherapy after completing an undergrad at the University of Toronto and has been actively counselling clients from diverse backgrounds ever since.
Her fluency in both English and Urdu allows her to effectively work with a broad population. Coming from a South Asian background and having been raised in Canada, Laiba is culturally aware of western and eastern values, beliefs, and ideologies. She remains unbiased and culturally sensitive to clients of diverse backgrounds.
Laiba has experience working with individuals between the ages of seventeen to seventy who struggle with Depression, Anxiety, Obsessive Compulsive, Bipolar, Borderline Personality Disorder and Addiction.
She uses Cognitive Behavioural Therapy as her primary modality. Laiba also applies Gestalt and Humanistic techniques in her practice. Using a Client-Centred approach, Laiba helps her clients meet their goals and find solutions to maladaptive thinking patterns. She attributes the success of her work to her commitment to help clients progress and maintain it post therapy by utilizing learned techniques.
