About Laura
Their own wordsLaura Notton is a Registered Social Worker, Psychotherapist, and Certified Sound Therapy Practitioner with 25 years of professional experience. She offers a range of therapeutic services, including traditional talk therapy, somatic therapy, and Integrative Psychotherapy with a Sound and Somatic Focus. Laura’s practice takes a holistic approach by addressing the whole person—mind, body, and emotions.
She collaborates with clients to create personalized treatment plans that target their therapy goals while honouring their unique needs and lived experiences. Laura works with individuals seeking support for all types of anxiety, as well as depression, life transitions, relationship challenges, and unresolved symptoms of childhood trauma. She helps clients process and heal from trauma, reduce stress, and move forward in their lives.
Laura has extensive experience supporting individuals experiencing burnout. She has worked with professionals, students, artists, and people from all over the world. She also provides coaching on navigating dating in the digital age. Laura’s goal is to empower clients to feel more resilient, internally resourced and confident while offering compassionate support every step of the way.
Her approach integrates principles of Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), DBT-Informed, and mindfulness-based modalities to help clients cultivate self-compassion, resilience, and well-being. She believes that therapy and growth-oriented relationships can promote emotional healing and even reshape neural pathways. Laura is also trained in Relational Cultural Therapy (RCT), sound healing and restorative yoga. She sees therapy as a collaborative partnership and an opportunity to meaningfully connect with your inner world.
In 2018, Laura began integrating sound into her social work practice, bringing together her extensive trauma training and long-standing connection to sound and music. She facilitates Integrative Psychotherapy sessions using sound and other somatic tools. These sessions that incorporate breathwork, body awareness, and immersive sound experiences using quartz crystal singing bowls, chimes, and voice. These sessions are designed to help participants shift out of stress states and into a more grounded, restorative state of being. Clients are sometimes also introduced to simple ways sound can support their nervous system regulation outside of the session.
Laura has facilitated group sound bath experiences for healthcare centres, the Government of Ontario, the University of Toronto's Rotman School of Management, Sheridan College, and wellness retreats.
Explore your thoughts, emotions, and bodily sensations to address patterns that may be holding you back. Using approaches like Internal Family Systems, you will gain a deeper understanding of different parts of yourself, develop greater curiosity and presence, and make decisions that align with your values. Therapy is an opportunity to shift difficult emotions, build new skills, and develop the emotional resilience needed to navigate life’s challenges.
Laura also believes that humour can be a powerful tool in the healing process, helping to bring lightness and perspective even in difficult moments.

“This free online consultation is to discuss what you want to explore and target during therapy. Please feel free to ask me any questions regarding what treatment is like with me.”Integrative Psychotherapy with Sound-Based Stress Reduction (Gananoque, Ontario BOOK @ Homebody)
“BOOK THROUGH HOMEBODY. These sessions offer an integrative psychotherapy approach that combines somatic awareness and the therapeutic use of sound to support nervous system regulation and emotional healing.
Laura provides brief psychoeducation on how sound can support the nervous system, followed by an overview of what to expect during the sound component of the session. Clients are then guided through somatic work that includes breathwork and a body scan, in conjunction with a live sound bath. Instruments such as quartz crystal singing bowls, chimes, and voice are used to enhance the experience. At times, clients are also taught simple ways sound can support their own regulation outside of session.
This meditation phase encourages deep listening—to both the soundscape and the body’s responses—helping clients access greater emotional integration and embodied presence. The session concludes with a brief check-out to support reflection and integration.
This structured format allows for a deeper process that incorporates both verbal and non-verbal modalities. It helps guide the body from a state of fight-or-flight into a more regulated, restorative state.
This service is offered by a Registered Social Worker (MSW, RSW) and is covered under most extended health insurance plans, including providers such as Sun Life, Manulife, Green Shield, Canada Life, Blue Cross, and others. Please contact your insurance provider directly to confirm that your plan includes coverage for social work service.”ADULT RATE PSYCHOTHERAPY SESSION
