Leah has completed her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Calgary and her Masters of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Alberta. She has worked as a physiotherapist for the Alberta Ballet School and Alberta Ballet Company. She hopes to continue to use her knowledge to help benefit dancers of all ages and levels of experience.
While she specializes in dance physiotherapy, Leah is happy to treat all populations to help them return to their optimal level of function and to achieve their goals. She also has a special interest in dizziness/vestibular conditions and chronic pain. She strives to bring her unique perspective, both as a long term physiotherapy patient and as a health care professional, into each clinical interaction. She is an advocate for working with her patients to develop a treatment plan that is individualized, realistic, and goal-oriented. She has completed courses including: Ortho Level 1, Functional Dry Needling (FDN), Mulligan lower quadrant, vestibular rehabilitation, and Clinical Pilates.
Physiotherapy has always been a part of her life. She began dancing when she was four years old and had her first physiotherapy session was at age eight. She trained in a variety of dance styles and also completed different levels of RAD, Cecchetti, and ADAPT dance exams. In addition to dance, she also grew up playing volleyball. Leah has been a physiotherapy patient throughout her life and recognizes the importance of movement and understanding your injury. Currently she enjoys participating in spin and pilates classes, as well as a variety of sports including volleyball and slow-pitch.

Chronic Pain AssessmentNew patient
“Struggling with Chronic Pain? We know chronic pain is a different beast. It requires a different type of assessment and treatment that often cannot be accommodated for in a regular clinic. We want to allow extra time to hear your story and give you a customized treatment plan that will be appropriate for you and your pain levels. We want enough time for patient education and to start you back into moving safely and in a supported way. Quite often the body will be afraid to move- or forget how to move properly. We can use clinical pilates as a way of helping re-train the nervous system and the body to start moving again.”
