About Lorraine
Hi, I’m Lorraine, a Registered Social Worker and Psychotherapist and a member of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. I’ve had the privilege of supporting individuals, couples, and families for over 20 years as they navigate many of life’s challenges and transitions.
I work with teens (13+) and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, stress, self-esteem concerns, relationship difficulties, parenting challenges, and grief and loss. My hope is to create a space where you feel genuinely safe, heard, and understood.
Clients often share that they leave sessions feeling a sense of relief, more grounded, and better able to understand what they’re experiencing. Over time, many notice they’re able to respond to stress with more ease, communicate more openly, and feel more confident in themselves and their relationships.
My approach is collaborative and tailored to you. I draw from a range of evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Trauma-Focused CBT, Family Systems Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Brief Solution-Focused Therapy, and mindfulness-based practices, among others.
I also work with couples and have completed Level 1 Gottman Method Couples Therapy training, with ongoing training at Level 2. I support partners as they navigate communication challenges, co-parenting, and family dynamics, with a focus on building connection, understanding, and a stronger sense of partnership.
I aim to offer a warm, down-to-earth, and supportive space where you can show up as you are. I see it as a privilege to walk alongside you in your process. You don’t need to have everything figured out to begin, just a willingness to take the first step.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply wanting things to feel more manageable, I would be honoured to support you as you work toward greater balance, resilience, and a more fulfilling life.
