When we’re isolated, the challenges we are up against can feel so overwhelming. I believe in the power of community and collectivity, and I think that connecting with a counsellor is a bold step in a new direction – even when you’re not sure what direction that is.
My approach:
In my counselling practice, I want to create a comfortable space for people to talk about their lives—the things that are hard, the things that are important to them, the ways they experience the world, and the ways they want to show up in the world. These could be things like challenges in relationships, grief and loss, sense of identity, and overwhelming thoughts and emotions.

I practice from the perspective that people are not defined by their problems, and that the problems you are experiencing exist within social, political, and cultural contexts. These contexts are in part shaped by systems of power including race, class, ability, gender, and sexual orientation. You will always be the expert in your own unique life and story, and I look forward to accompanying you for a short or long while.
My experience:
My work has been rooted in supporting teens and young adults, though I enjoy working with people across all stages of life. I value humour, creativity, curiosity, learning, and unlearning, and I try to integrate these qualities into all the conversations I get to have.
My work includes supporting organizations providing low-barrier harm reduction supports to youth and adults.
More than my work:
I spend most of time hanging out with my two young children, and mountain biking whenever I get the chance.

All ICBC clients must book an Initial Assessment. In this session, the client and counsellor will work together to complete a standard ICBC Initial Assessment Package. Any time remaining after the ICBC assessment is completed will be allocated for counselling therapy treatment. After this session, the ICBC Initial Assessment package is submitted to ICBC, who will decide if the client qualifies for counselling therapy coverage. Please note, it may take some time for ICBC to confirm the client's counselling therapy benefits.
