About Marion
Their own words#Meet Marion
I approach mental health struggles as a very human experience. Even behaviours, thoughts, and emotions we consider dysfunctional or are unwanted serve a purpose. I like supporting people to discover themselves and develop greater psychological flexibility to move towards what they value.
The way you were raised, or the life experiences you’ve had, do not have to determine who you are. Desensitizing negative core beliefs, finding empowerment to grow, and transmutating suffering into medicine, are a few of the things I love about providing therapy.
With over 10 years prior experience in social services supporting persons navigate ongoing chronic and complex distress, I approach your individual difficulties as the unique situation that it is, with consideration for all your life circumstances.
I use Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT) as a foundation to support change. I sprinkle in Dialectical Behavioural Therapy skills to round out tools for managing interpersonal distress and emotional regulation, along with somatic strategies. To expedite trauma integration for situations where we’re making progress but struggling to shake negative core beliefs or flashbacks, we can explore the use of EMDR.
Areas of proficiency: grief, trauma, neurodiverse experiences, mood dysregulation, gender affirming care, life transitions, and relational difficulties.
