About Mary

Their own words
Mary is a Registered Psychotherapist with a unique and unconventional career path that integrates over two decades of leadership in the media and marketing industry with her work in mental health. Prior to becoming a therapist, Mary held senior executive roles in Canada’s broadcast and digital media landscape, where she led high-performing teams, developed national strategies, and mentored professionals navigating complex, fast-paced environments. Having experienced her own career evolution, Mary brings a deep understanding of the psychological and emotional dimensions of work. She recognizes that, on average, people spend nearly 40% of their waking lives engaged in their careers, making it one of the most significant and influential domains of wellbeing. This insight informs her commitment to helping individuals build careers that are not only successful, but meaningful, sustainable, and aligned with who they are. Mary’s psychotherapy practice focuses on supporting clients through life transitions, career decisions, and the internal barriers that often keep people feeling stuck, uncertain, or disconnected from their purpose. Her clinical experience includes working with anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, relationship challenges, and self-esteem, alongside a strong emphasis on identity, direction, and personal growth. Her approach is integrative and action-oriented, drawing primarily from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Solution-Focused Therapy, while incorporating elements of psychodynamic and strengths-based approaches. Mary is known for helping clients connect insight with action, moving beyond awareness into meaningful, lasting change. She works collaboratively to uncover patterns, challenge limiting beliefs, and build practical strategies that support both emotional wellbeing and forward momentum. Mary holds a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and a Bachelor of Applied Arts in Radio and Television Arts from Toronto Metropolitan University. She is also trained in Gottman Method Couples Therapy (Level 1) and has additional certification in behavioural addictions.
