Mckenzie Kool
Mckenzie is a Registered Psychologist and has been working in the realm of trauma for over a decade. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Alberta, as well as a Masters in Counselling Psychology from Athabasca University.
Mckenzie’s approach to counselling comes from her experience in treating a wide range of mental health concerns, combined with the observation that the symptoms clients present with often have roots in unprocessed trauma or distressing life events. She works from an attachment perspective and a brain-based approach that aims to integrate unprocessed trauma in the nervous system, in order to alleviate psychological distress and unhealthy relationship patterns. Mckenzie also works to help clients resolve generational trauma that is passed down to us through no fault of our own. Mckenzie believes that we all have the ability to heal from the life experiences that have disconnected us from who we really are. She is nonjudgmental, empathetic, and believes that counselling should be both insightful and fun.
