Melissa has close to 2 decades of experience as a healthcare professional. With a yearning to better understand the body's ability to heal itself, Melissa has pursued extensive training domestically and internationally in several disciplines such as hydrotherapy (scrubs, wraps, and hot rock massage), Thai massage, Muscle Energy Technique, Craniosacral Therapy, and Visceral Manipulation. She has even taken some training in energy therapies such as Reiki and BodyTalk. While Melissa has a rather diverse set of interests, one of her true passions lie in how manual lymph drainage (MLD) is able to create an environment of healing inside the body. A decade ago, Melissa received her certification through Vodder International as a MLD/CDT therapist. Not satisfied with just bringing edema clients' swelling down to a minimum, Melissa was determined to provide her clients a solution that would contain the edema. Naturally, she sought out extra training with Mediven Canada to become a compression garment fitter. When Melissa is not in the office, she can be found ferrying two young children between their various after school activities, volunteering at the school, enjoying a hot drink with friends, skiing, singing, or creating ethnically diverse recipes for friends and family.
A non-pharmaceutical path to improved health, PEMF and red-light improve many symptoms of both chronic and acute injuries and illnesses. PEMF reduces pain, and increases microcirculation, as well as “charging” cells, thereby reducing fatigue, and is applied to the whole body using a full-length pad with multiple coils for complete coverage. Low-level light therapy is anti-inflammatory and pain reducing. It decreases oxidative stress and allows for better energy production in cells. This is an initial appointment for garment fitting. In this session your therapist will give a treatment in order to (re)acquaint themselves to your specific tissue issues. During the massage they will discuss with you what you have already tried, what has worked and hasn't in the past. After the massage they will present options as to what they will recommend and will book the actual measurement appointment. Please be aware that Flow does not generally stock ready-made garments. All garments will be ordered after the measurements appointment. You will be contacted when garments arrive. This is a treatment using hands and oil. In 90 minutes we isolate and treat the problem areas of your face and neck. 3-5 treatments spaced 2 weeks a part are required. A consultation is required before booking. *Please note (double) chin is a separate treatment.

In this 45 min treatment your therapist will start with a brief treatment of the affected limb. Then the therapist will measure for either a custom flat knit garment or a ready made circular knit garment as was decided on during the treatment or prior consultation appointment.

In this appointment there will be a very short massage to assess the limb involved. The various brands of wraps will be discussed at this time and measurements will be taken. If the clinic has the appropriate wrap(s) in stock they will be fitted to you. If not one will be ordered.

This follow up appointment takes place approximately once a week after the reduction phase of treatment has begun. In this treatment the limb will be measured, a quick lymphatic drainage massage will be performed to boost lymphatic uptake and if warranted the reduction kit will be cut down to a better size. How to put on the reduction kit will be reviewed if wanted. A receipt for massage therapy will be given for this appointment.

This is a follow - up appointment to the initial reduction kit appointment for those with a 2 or more piece velcro wrap set-up on the leg. This session starts with a lymphatic drainage massage to the limb to increase the lymphatic fluid increase of the affected limb. Followed by remeasuring and cutting down the various pieces to meet the new size of the leg.
