About Melissa
Their own wordsAs a third culture kid, I understand cultural nuances and intergenerational trauma. My experiences and training has prepared me to work with individuals who have experience relational trauma; intergenerational trauma; and oppression. My purpose is to re-learn what connection is and how to reconnect to my ancestors, and I hope to support others in their reconnection journey, as well. My theoretical orientation is anti-racism; anti-oppressive practice; and Black feminism. I work with people who have experience the impact of colonization and/or enslavement, as well, individuals who experience 2SLGTBQ+ oppression.

“A free phone therapy consultation is a gentle first step toward getting the support you need. It’s a chance for us to connect, for you to share a little about what’s been on your mind, and for me to explain how I might be able to help. It’s completely free and no-pressure—just a friendly conversation to see if we’re a good fit for working together. My goal is to make you feel heard, comfortable, and confident about your next steps in your journey toward healing and growth.
Sometimes it’s difficult to think of what questions to ask a therapist in a free phone consultation, especially if you’re feeling nervous or unsure about what to expect. It’s completely okay to not know where to start—this is a new experience for many people.
Here are some suggestions:
What should I expect during a typical session?
What is your experience working with issues like mine?
How do you address misunderstandings?
How do you address intersectionality in your practice?
What steps do you take to ensure your practice is inclusive and affirming?
How do you tailor therapy to meet individual needs?
What do you think is most important for building a good therapist-client relationship?
What would progress look like in therapy and how would we measure it?
What is your availability? Do you offer virtual or in-person sessions?”Openings checked 2 hr ago · prices come straight from the clinic — never marked up
