I’m especially passionate about men’s mental health. Many men carry stress, anger, relationship challenges, and emotional overwhelm quietly. My role is to create a space where men feel respected, understood, and supported in ways that feel practical and empowering.
Professional Background
My career spans community, healthcare, and family‑support settings, including:
Mental Health & Addictions (Nova Scotia Health)
Youth and family services (Department of Community Services / Opportunities & Social Development)
Halifax Regional Centre for Education
Adult rehabilitation and community support programs
Foster parenting and family support services
Psycho‑educational and therapeutic group facilitation
This diverse background allows me to work effectively with clients navigating anxiety, depression, addiction, stress, relationship difficulties, anger, and major life transitions.
Counselling Approach
My style is client‑centred, collaborative, and practical. I believe people are the experts in their own lives, and therapy works best when clients feel respected, heard, and supported.
I integrate several evidence‑based approaches, including:
Solution‑Focused Therapy (SFT)
Motivational Interviewing (MI)
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
Behavioural Family Therapy (BFT)
Structured Relapse Prevention (SRP)
Sessions are tailored to your goals and may focus on emotional regulation, communication, coping strategies, relationship strengthening, or developing healthier patterns of thinking and behaviour.

Coaching is a goal-oriented, future-focused service designed to help you gain clarity, improve decision-making, and move forward in your personal or professional life. This service is well-suited for individuals who are feeling stuck, navigating transitions, or seeking structure, accountability, and direction. Coaching is **not counselling or psychotherapy** and does not diagnose or treat mental health conditions. If concerns arise that are outside the scope of coaching, appropriate referrals to counselling or other supports may be recommended.
Couples counselling provides a structured, supportive space to work through challenges, improve communication, and rebuild connection. Whether you’re feeling stuck in recurring conflict, experiencing distance, or navigating a major life transition, sessions focus on helping both partners feel heard while working toward practical, meaningful change.
Couples counselling is available virtually, offering the same structured and supportive approach from the comfort of your own space. Work together to improve communication, reduce conflict, and rebuild connection—without the need to travel.
Follow-up sessions build on the progress made in your initial appointment, focusing on strengthening communication, addressing ongoing challenges, and continuing to shift patterns within the relationship. These sessions help you stay on track, deepen understanding, and apply practical strategies in real-life situations.
Virtual follow-up sessions allow you to continue your work together with flexibility and consistency. Focus on maintaining progress, improving communication, and addressing challenges as they arise.
