~Happiness in the body comes from the ability to perform free, unhindered movement and a harmonious mind free of trouble~ Noelle has been working as a massage professional for 8 years now. Her interest in therapy grew after many years of athletics (seriously though: soccer, rugby, fieldhockey, basketball, gymnastics, skiing/snowboarding) as a youth/young adult, and then after several accidents losing those abilities and having to rehabilitate. It was a long process to recover, not as simple as back exercises, yoga, and core conditioning (though she used all those things). Noelle has spent the last ten years extensively studying CFQ a unique form of Qigong which you can read more about here: https://www.cfqcanada.com. True healing comes from a combination of meditation practice and dynamic movements which reconnect us to our body, so that it's innate healing ability can be activated to release blockages which hamper it's optimal function. Noelle likes to blend her intuitive nature that she cultivates in her meditation and dynamic CFQ practice into her treatments as a massage therapist. Throughout her career as an RMT, she has worked at Oak Bay Beach hotel, Mustang Powder Catski lodge and in clinical settings: Coastal Health Alliance, Nanaimo Massage Therapy. Noelle has a firm grounding in science through earning her BSc. in Kinesiology, and sincerely feels passionate about evidence-based practice. However, she also realizes that there is an art to healing, and that what we believe about our experience of our bodies plays a big role in how our bodies heal. Continuing education that she applies in her practice include osteopathic and craniosacral techniques. Noelle also includes breathwork, and movement therapy as much as possible into her treatments, or, as homework for improving function. Noelle sincerely enjoys time with her hunting hound Leroy, practicing CFQ, crafting, canning things, finding mushrooms, snowboarding in the backcountry and just generally spending as much time outside as possible and doing fun things. Oh and Qigong of course!
