Peter Conway is a leading herbalist (Phytotherapist) with a core interest in contrasting and integrating approaches to healing from both traditional and contemporary sources. He enjoys testing the alleged boundaries between disciplines and approaches and seeing what happens when these give way to open up to allow new connections and potentials. Peter combines his clinical practice in Tunbridge Wells (where he has a special interest in working with people experiencing cancer) with herbal educational and political work. Peter is a Fellow and former President of the College of Practitioners of Phytotherapy, a Fellow of the National Institute of Medical Herbalists and a former Director of the European Herbal and Traditional Medicine Practitioners Association. He teaches on several herbal medicine courses – including co-teaching one for veterinarians. Peter helped develop the UK National Professional Standards for Herbal Medicine and sat on the UK Department of Health Steering Group looking at the regulation of herbal medicine and acupuncture. He has written several books including his recent textbook The Consultation in Phytotherapy: the herbal practitioner’s approach to the patient published by Elsevier/Churchill Livingstone.
