Rachel Hanks
AjouterRachel is a registered member of the Alberta College of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists (ACSLPA) and Speech-Language and Audiology Canada (SAC). She has a masters in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Alberta, has previously worked as a school SLP with Red Deer Catholic schools, and is currently also working in the stroke unit at Red Deer Regional Hospital.
Rachel is passionate about making sure children have access to the language and supports they need to communicate successfully at school and in their daily lives. She has experience working with AAC devices, speech sounds, childhood apraxia of speech, and developmental language disorder, and is certified in the Hanen Learning Language and Loving it program. She is excited to help the children and families at Legacy achieve their communication goals.

This is for ALL new adult clients coming into treatment. The initial assessment will help our therapists find the right treatment for you by completing baseline assessments, understanding your goals, and communicating needs with our team.

This involves a full assessment of the typical textures in the adult diet including solid food and liquids. It is useful if you are coughing or clearing your throat when eating or drinking, if you have had aspiration pneumonia, or if you are avoiding certain foods or drinks. A written report will be provided which is useful to share with your doctor or other health professionals.

This is a cognitive communication assessment for adults who have had brain injuries or concussions. It is useful in helping make decisions about return-to-work. A formal report will be written with the analysis and interpretation of the test results as well as recommendations.
