Originally from Saskatchewan, Rain completed their master’s degree in Occupational Therapy in Ontario in 2017. They also hold both a Bachelor’s and Master’s of Science in Kinesiology. Rain draws on this academic foundation, and their own lived experiences of broken bones and post-traumatic stress, to provide evidence-based therapy with a collaborative approach. They approach therapy as a shared process of exploring with clients how they spend their time and energy in daily life, with attention to the meaning and purpose that daily activities hold in clients’ lives.
Rain has worked as an occupational therapist in remote communities in Nunavut and in urban high-rise supported-housing in Vancouver. These experiences have given them an understanding of how social, environmental, and systemic factors influence the ways people live, heal, and find meaning. Guided by chronic curiosity, empathy, and willingness to speak up, Rain has advocated for and helped lead change initiatives aimed at improving the systems they work within.
Outside of work, Rain enjoys running, training their dogs, drawing, playing strategy board games, and spending time with family and friends outdoors.
