Hi, I'm Sam!
I help people who understand themselves intellectually but still feel stuck emotionally
I am a Canadian virtual mental health therapist. I am registered with:
- British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC) as a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC).
- College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) as a Registered Psychotherapist
I believe therapy is about more than learning coping skills or having someone tell you what to do. It's a collaborative space where we can slow down, make sense of what you're experiencing, and better understand the patterns that may be keeping you stuck.
I work from a warm, thoughtful, and person-centred approach, tailoring therapy to your unique needs rather than fitting you into one specific method. While I bring clinical knowledge and guidance into our work together, I don't believe my role is to "fix" you. Instead, my hope is to create a space where you feel understood, supported, and empowered to reconnect with yourself with greater clarity, confidence, and self-compassion.
I completed my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University in 2022 after earning my Bachelor's degree in Psychology. Before becoming a therapist, I worked in a variety of mental health and wellness settings, including the Canadian Mental Health Association, Kids Help Phone, and Third Space Charity.
Like many of my clients, I've experienced seasons of life where I needed support too, and I continue to value therapy when I need it. Those experiences remind me that asking for help isn't a sign that something is wrong with you. Often, it's the beginning of understanding yourself more deeply. It is a privilege to now offer that same space to others.
Outside of therapy, you'll usually find me reading fantasy novels, exploring beautiful trails around Western Canada, trying new coffee shops and restaurants, spending time by the ocean whenever I can, or enjoying a cozy video game at home.
