Savannah Yutman
About Savannah
Their own wordsI specialize in taking a collaborative, trauma-informed, culturally responsive, strength-based, LGBTQIA+ affirmative, and person-centered approach to therapy to support you in recognizing the strengths you already have and help you feel empowered within your everyday life. If you are struggling with anxiety, stress/burnout, depression, turning points in your life, emotional dysregulation, grief, trauma, and are facing systemic barriers. I will take an empathic and tailored approach to working with you to develop stress management skills, set boundaries, and access energy within yourself. I work with adults of all ages using evidence based approaches to support you in your healing, growth, and navigating this challenging world.
As someone that has engaged in therapy myself and struggled with periods of mental health concerns such as anxiety and depression, accessing help was daunting and took a lot of strength. Accessing therapy is a truly brave thing to do. I can assure that I will meet you where you are at to address overwhelming thoughts and feelings and work at a pace that is most comfortable for you. You are the expert of your own life and I would be honoured to accompany you on your journey.
I have worked in a community based setting in a casework capacity for 6+ years with those who have experienced complex trauma, anxiety, depression, substance use, anger, and mood disorders. As well as those that are newcomers to Canada. What I have learned is that there are many barriers communities face and that having a supportive community is incredibly important to approaching mental health. I also value that each person is amazingly unique and that you already have so many strengths and successes you might not even realize.
My goal is to help you towards your goals and discover ways to live life that are reflective of what is meaningful to you. If you are at a stuck point, I want you to know that you are not alone, and that I would be happy to work with you to develop coping strategies that work within the context of your life and truly listen to your story. I will take a holistic and integrative approach to working with you meeting you with empathy and compassion.
