About Shafiq
Shafiq H. Ali is a dedicated chiropody professional with a strong interest in lower limb health, biomechanics, rehabilitation, wound care, and surgical care. He completed a degree in Kinesiology with a specialization in Rehabilitation before pursuing studies in Podiatric Medicine at the Michener Institute of Education at UHN in Toronto, building a strong foundation in movement science, injury prevention, and evidence-based patient care.
During his clinical training, Shafiq gained experience across a variety of healthcare settings. At Unify Clinic, he assisted in podiatric bone surgeries alongside orthopedic and podiatric surgeons, developing skills in surgical assistance, postoperative management, and minor surgical procedures. During his clinical rotations at Toronto East Clinic, he worked alongside a vascular surgeon, gaining exposure to vascular surgery, lower limb wound care, and high-risk foot management. He is also an active volunteer at the Centenary Hospital Fracture Clinic, where he works alongside orthopedic surgeons and has gained exposure to emergency lower limb conditions, fracture care, and acute injury management.
Shafiq is committed to providing individualized, evidence-based care for foot pain, sports injuries, diabetic foot complications, wounds, ingrown and fungal nails, corns, calluses, and musculoskeletal conditions. His professional interests include surgical podiatry, rehabilitation, wound care, and minor surgical procedures, with a focus on improving patient mobility, function, and overall quality of life.
