**Simon is currently accepting ICBC, pregnancy, and pediatric patients** Prior to graduating from the Vancouver College of Massage Therapy, Simon completed a Bachelors of Kinesiology degree from the University of British Columbia (UBC). Inspired at a young age through participation in various sports such as basketball, volleyball, Ultimate frisbee, and strength/resistance training, he developed a keen interest in the human body. During his time at UBC, Simon had worked as a Certified Personal Trainer under the American College of Sports Medicine, but made the shift to become a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) after graduation to broaden his scope of practice as a professional who strives to help individuals with musculoskeletal (MSK) problems. Since working as an RMT, Simon has a newfound appreciation for how much massage therapy can help those not only with MSK problems, but to those with stress, anxiety, and depression. Throughout his RMT career, Simon has worked with patients with conditions such as: adhesive capsulitis/frozen shoulder, disc herniation (lumbar & cervical), shoulder impingement, osteoarthritis, scoliosis, IT band syndrome, fibromyalgia, spinal cord injury (complete & incomplete), multiple sclerosis, depression, and pregnancy (2nd & 3rd trimester). He is excited to have worked with so many patient populations and is eager to work with so many more! Whether your goal is relaxation after a long day of work, relief from chronic aches and pains, rehabilitation from an injury, or anything in between, Simon would be glad to work with you. His treatments often incorporate a blend of relaxation and deep tissue Swedish massage techniques, with trigger point therapy, joint mobilizations, and myofascial release as additional massage modalities if indicated. Simon is able to provide a thorough assessment and appropriate remedial exercise recommendations for most MSK conditions if requested. When Simon is not at work, he can be found lifting weights (in a safe and controlled manner), indulging in video games, playing with his cat, or sleeping.
