About Sui
Karl is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with a Master of Social Sciences in Clinical Psychology. He has extensive experience across hospital, outpatient, and community mental health settings, supporting children, adolescents, and adults. Drawing on his clinical training and diverse practice experience, he works with a broad range of concerns, from everyday challenges and life transitions to more complex emotional and psychological difficulties.
With specialized training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), mindfulness-based approaches, and family therapy, Karl tailors treatment to each individual's unique needs and circumstances. Therapy may explore difficulties through the lens of thoughts, emotions, relationships, life experiences, and the ways the nervous system responds to stress and adversity.
At the heart of his work is the belief that meaningful change happens within a safe, collaborative, and authentic therapeutic relationship. Guided by curiosity, compassion, and respect for each person's lived experience, he supports clients in making sense of their challenges, strengthening resilience, and developing new ways of relating to themselves and others. While his approach is grounded in empathy and understanding, he also values honesty and transparency, offering thoughtful feedback and gentle challenge when it may help foster growth and lasting change.
Karl provides therapy in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin, recognizing that people often connect most deeply in their heart language.
