About Tanya
Starting therapy can feel overwhelming and you may be unsure where to begin, or even wonder if it will really help. My first goal is to make the process feel safe, welcoming, and supportive, so you don’t have to feel like you need to have it all figured out before walking through the door.
Do you find yourself overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, or reacting in ways you don’t fully understand? Maybe your child is struggling with big emotions, your teen is shutting down, or you feel stuck repeating patterns that began in childhood. Many of the clients I work with carry the lasting impact of childhood trauma, difficult relationships, anxiety, low self-worth, or emotional disconnection, and often feel like they are surviving instead of truly living.
I work with children, teens, adults, and families to better understand the emotions, experiences, and nervous system responses underneath the behaviours that are causing distress. I help children build emotional regulation and confidence, support teens in expressing themselves more effectively and improving family connection, and help adults process unresolved experiences that may still be impacting their relationships, self-esteem, and daily life.
My approach is warm, trauma-informed, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based practices including CBT, DBT, Solution Focused Therapy, and play-based approaches. I believe healing happens when people feel emotionally safe, deeply understood, and supported without judgment. Therapy with me is not about “fixing” you, it’s about helping you better understand yourself, develop healthier coping strategies, and create meaningful, lasting change.
